Seek Knowledge Through Action, And Proceed From Knowledge

Mar 01, 2024

Mr. Sun Yat-sen once said that we should "seek knowledge through action and proceed from knowledge." This means that when facing life and work challenges without a clue, we should first take action to try and gain knowledge, experience, and problem-solving insights through action, and then use that knowledge to guide the next steps.

In our work, we inevitably encounter various tasks and challenges that we have never dealt with before. When many people face these difficulties for the first time, their initial reaction is often anxiety and procrastination. It is human nature to fear the unknown and not know how to deal with it. However, in the workplace, this is a wrong way of thinking.

Because the problems and challenges we encounter are not all ones we have dealt with before, for those challenges that sound daunting or for which we lack experience, there is only one solution: to take action first. Action can involve seeking advice from others or trying to complete tasks within our capabilities. However, we should never reinforce unrealistic fears and concerns about the task through unfounded imagination.

Through action, we will gain inspiration in the process of thinking, understand the challenges of work, and gradually approach problem-solving through trial and error and thoughtful optimization. This kind of action-oriented approach is the way we should promote and will continue to adhere to in our work.
